Energy has become a global prime concern. Reducing energy consumption of systems and facilities not only improves running cost as well as convenience of them, but also helps to protect the environment by reducing their carbon footprint and greenhouse effects.

Toward these goals, we develop techniques and tools to reduce power and energy consumption in two ways in the Easy Lab.:

  • Energy optimizations in digital electronic systems (also called Green of IT technologies),
  • Energy optimizations by using electronic systems in other structures such as buildings (also called Green by IT technologies).
We mainly focus on system-level techniques and tools for practicality reasons in our country. Examples of such system-level techniques include task scheduling, power-mode selection, code and data placement, and similar static and dynamic choices applied by the compiler, Operating System, application software, and/or combinations of them.
